Deeply Grateful for Friendship

During this week of vacation between Christmas and New Year, my husband’s been home, our family’s been together, and I’ve not blogged as much…but I’ve been thinking, reflecting at the end of this year on the blessings of the Lord, and one of them is you! I’m so thankful, deeply thankful to God for friends!
Friendships
“Write life without its friendships~
And who would read it through?
Paint life without its friendships~~
Where is the rainbow hue?
Build life without its friendships~
And who would live therein?
For friendship’s glow leads to
the goal
That each of us would win . . . .”

I’m very grateful for all of you dear friends!  Those whom I’ve met face-to-face, some whom I’ve known for many years–golden friends; and those whom I’ve known a short while, some I’ve only met recently, and of course, my blogging friends who I may never have the opportunity to meet face-to-face, at least in this earthly realm–silver friends:
You are tools in the Father’s hand in my life.  You influence me by your lives and your love, your choices and your character.  God sands off my rough edges sometimes with only a look of disappointment or a word of rebuke from you; or by a loving act or a gentle word.  Often your written words cause me to think deeply and seek to be better.
I am reminded of an old song I learned as a girl:
Make new friends, but keep the old~~
One is silver, but the other’s gold.
I am so grateful To all of you, my dear friends, wherever you are today~~
I thank the Lord for you!

  1. I'm so blessed by your comments. Thank you for the encouragement. I pray for all my “followers” (friends) and I would appreciate your prayers for me as I seek to use this blog as a ministry in 2010.
    Blessings to you all!

  2. I didn't get a chance to comment before I went out of town to visit family, but I wanted to let you know how awesome you testimony was to me! It was very much a blessing (thought I didn't get to read all 3 parts of it…I will read the beginning of it this coming week when I'm back on a “schedule”).

Thank you for making your blog a ministry. You inspired me to want to witness more!
