Food Friday: Recipe for Raspberry Smoothies

Raspberry Recipes on Food Friday at Faith's Firm Foundation

Our raspberry bushes have been producing in abundance!  Luscious, sweet raspberries, right off the bush!  While looking for ways to use them up, I found this great Smoothie recipe in my Taste of Home Cool and Creamy Cookbook (Smoothies, Ice Cream Treats and More!)  It’s full of no-bake recipes and I just love it!  This would be a very refreshing treat for breakfast, or a great mid-afternoon snack on a hot day, which we’ve had a lot of lately!  Let me know if you like it!

Raspberry Smoothies
Yield:  3 servings
Ingredients:
1 cup milk
1 cup fresh or frozen unsweetened raspberries
1 small ripe banana, cut into chunks
1/2 cup apple juice
1/2 cup raspberry yogurt

Directions:
In a blender, combine all ingredients; cover and process until blended.  Pour into chilled glasses (we accomplish this by placing the glasses in the freezer for a little while); serve immediately.
