Let Me Give You Some Encouragement!

Let me share a little encouragement with you today, ok?

How do you begin your week? your day?

Feelings are fickle, and Satan’s a liar.  Who or what I listen to can turn me and my family so in the wrong direction so easily.  I know that beginnings and endings are important, so I know that the beginning of the day is important. Jesus showed this in His life and ministry, and we see it all through Scripture.

Being a stay-at-home wife and mom, I find my whole attitude and direction for the day and week can be determined by whether I give in to the flesh and listen to Satan’s voice on Monday Morning.

“I’m so tired. There’s too much to do. It’s going to be a hard day. A hard week. Why doesn’t my husband _____.  My children should be _____.  I can’t do it…”

Get thee behind me, Satan! Be gone!!

The voice of rejoicing, gratitude, thankfulness, trust and hope is the voice I will listen to!!! Mondays are GREAT! Glad, Rejoicing, Encouraged and Encouraging, And Thankful!

His grace is sufficient for me! Thank You, God, for all my blessings! Thank You for saving me, thank you for giving me a place to lay my head at night, a husband, children, work to do, health to do it, but more importantly, thank You for Your lovingkindness, which is better than life!  There is nothing too hard for You.  I have so much to be thankful for.  I will trust You, and look at all the blessings.  I will speak blessings, not curses, to my children.  I will smile and be cheerful!  I have control over my attitude, and feelings.  I will let the Truth of God’s Word dictate in my life, not foolish feelings which come and go.  God is the Lord of my life.

Thank You, that no matter what trials or troubles I may have this week, there is nothing too hard for You, God!  Thank You that I have Your Holy Spirit living within me, and I can talk to You any time of the day or night.  Thank You that the power that raised Jesus Christ from the dead, the power that made ordinary fisherman into powerful preachers of the gospel, the miraculous power that turned a few fishes and loaves into enough to feed a multitude, is present in my life today!!  Praise God!!!

I will serve and listen to the Lord Jesus Christ and His Word today.  I choose gladness, gratefulness, faithfulness, and a rejoicing, thankful heart today.   It’s going to be a great week with God!

“Choose ye this day whom ye will serve: As for me and MY House, we will serve the LORD!”

  1. I needed this more today than yesterday (perfect timing for me to read it!). We have a CRAZY week ahead; one daughter is ministering to a family who just had their 6th baby; another daughter is helping friends prepare their home for a wedding. Additionally, we have lots of food to prepare for the wedding (which is Saturday), we were blessed with 200 lbs of tomatoes that need processed, and then this morning a friend called and asked our daughters to sing at her father’s funeral (he was injured in an accident and died this morning). I am overwhelmed and have been in “retreat mode”. Time to roll up my sleeves and face this week with the Holy Spirit within me, my Father before me, and Jesus carrying me through. Thank you, dear sister-in-Christ for this encouragement.

    1. I’m praying for God’s grace poured out upon you, and through you to minister to the needs around you at this time. May He lift you up, and make your paths straight.

  2. An excellent post and so very true the enemy loves to put words into our minds and having us asking why our family aren’t doing what we want them or causing us to doubt what is wrong when in fact things are going well. he is such a liar and the Father of them…

  3. Thanks for the encouragement! Remembering the promises of God’s Word turns around so many of the everyday frustrations and I’m finding that mindset has such an influence on how I approach life.

  4. “I will let the Truth of God’s Word dictate in my life, not foolish feelings which come and go” -Wendy,really I tell you – you nailed it here(the Lord really used your fingers to write here). Really I struggle feeling this , that, this way, that way… Oh my Satan tries hard to defeat me in this area and I fall for it often. Please pray for me. Emotional attack is a major problem.

    1. A woman’s emotions can be her worst enemy, and I think Satan knows that. Look how he deceived Eve. He’s such a liar. I know what I’m speaking about, because I struggle, too, and this is what God is teaching me–daily perseverance, daily being watchful in prayer, and not giving Satan an opening to attack me (through bitterness, through disobedience, through giving in to what my flesh wants to do…)
I will pray for you! Please remember me in your prayers, too:)
      Lots of love,
      Wendy

  5. Beautiful encouragement Wendy 🙂 Thank you. Even though I have just read this and it’s Tuesday morning in Australia, the message still rings true… for any morning.
    Blessings
